Workshop Safeguarding Policy

Mandala Workshop

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all participants attending Mandala Workshops can enjoy a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.

 

Commitment

The facilitator is committed to:

  • Treating all participants with dignity and respect.

  • Providing a safe and inclusive environment free from discrimination, bullying, harassment, or abuse.

  • Promoting wellbeing, creativity, and positive participation.

  • Taking appropriate action if a safeguarding concern is raised.

Participants

This workshop is open to participants aged 16 and over.

Participants aged 16 and 17 should provide emergency contact details and, where appropriate, parental or guardian consent before attending.

 

Health and Wellbeing

Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and take breaks when needed.

The facilitator will:

  • Respect personal boundaries.

  • Encourage a supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere.

  • Not provide counselling, therapy, or mental health treatment.

  • Encourage participants to seek professional support where appropriate.

Safeguarding Concerns

Any concerns regarding the safety or welfare of a participant will be taken seriously.

If a safeguarding concern arises, the facilitator will:

  • Listen respectfully and without judgement.

  • Record relevant information.

  • Seek advice from appropriate safeguarding services if necessary.

  • Contact emergency services where there is an immediate risk of harm.

Confidentiality

Personal information shared during the workshop will be treated confidentially unless there is a concern that someone may be at risk of harm, in which case appropriate action may be taken.

 

Photography

Photographs will only be taken with participants’ consent. Participants may opt out of being photographed at any time.

 

Equality and Inclusion

The workshop welcomes participants from all backgrounds and aims to provide an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

 

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as required.
